When I first started working at Rose Marie Academy in

2004 Khun Prinya would usually watch the television news in

Reception and we would always exchange greetings, a smile

and a few words. He was very much part of the school and

during my first year , even though eating was difficult, joined

in the staff get togethers including the Saturday Program

          team’s Christmas lunch.

During my second year Khun Prinya’s health deteriorated

so that much of his time was spent in his room at the back

of Reception. Each morning I would pass along the small

back corridor to Junior High School and greet him. He would

acknowledge me verbally or with a cheerful wave and, when

          appropriate, we would communicate further.

He was an incredibly brave man who bore the increasing

limitations of his ill health with fortitude. I know from

colleagues of his many excellent qualities which earned their

respect and I am only sorry that I did not know him sooner.

Khun Prinya’s life was prolonged and his quality of life

enhanced by the devotion of his wife, Rose Marie, for whom
I have the greatest admiration as the epitome of a wife who

believed in and acted upon her marriage vows.
